Graduation Requirments

To graduate, candidates must fulfill all programme requirements within their maximum candidature period (4 semesters for full-time candidates and 6 semesters for part-time candidates). The NUS scheme of grades shown below is used.

The Cumulative Average Point (CAP) provides an aggregate indication of the performance of each candidate.
The minimum CAP for fulfillment of the degree requirement shall be 3.0.
The candidature of a student will be terminated if he/she obtains the following:

  1. A CAP of less than 2.50 for two consecutive semesters.
  2. A CAP of less than 3.0 for three consecutive semesters.

Progression of Candidate

The progression of a candidate through the MEM programme is determined by the candidate’s performance at the end of each semester. The table below shows the various possible decisions on a candidate’s progression.

The definitions are as follows:

  • PS/PN -Passed / Proceed at the next level
  • P1 -First academic warning
  • PF -Final probation
  • F -Refused re-admission
  • P2 -CAP<2.5 for the first time
  • F2 -Refused re-admission
